EXTENSION/ RENOVATION – MONASH

We worked with Baxter Design on the extensive remodelling and extension of our small and dark 80’s home. Our brief was to create open plan living, add an ensuite, an extra bedroom, study space, and rumpus room for our young family, as well as take advantage of the northerly aspect, and create connection to the outdoors.

 Tim worked in close collaboration with us through the design phase to understand exactly what we were trying to achieve. Tim diligently came up with unique solutions that contributed to the functionality of the floorplan, and the efficiency of the building. As an owner-builder, we made changes throughout the build, and Tim always made himself readily available throughout the build to consult with, draft changes and prepare documentation for council submission.

 Considering the constraints of the existing home, the result of Tim’s design is a renovated and extended house that functions like a brand-new build. The floorplan very effectively achieves ease of living for our family - the kitchen, living and dining area flows seamlessly to multiple outdoor areas, and the internal access from the garage directly into the laundry/mud room works well for our busy family. The rooms are all very generous in size, but there is very little wasted space throughout the home.

Best of all, the home just feels good. It is open, light filled, energy efficient, and comfortable. The well-considered connection to our existing garden and beyond, makes our home all the more enjoyable.

 Tim was always a pleasure to work with. His ability as a designer, and his easy-going, friendly approach, took away a lot of stress. We are so proud of our new home, and always very confident in recommending Baxter Design to our family, friends, and clients.

EXTENSION/ RENOVATION PROJECT - PEARCE

We engaged Tim Baxter to take our own concept design from our own home drawn ideas to documentation that would suffice to obtain Building Approval.  During our collaboration, Tim kept in mind our own design ideas and desires, but ensured all of the checks and balances were done so that our design complied with all of the required planning and statutory requirements.  Tim's commitment to adhering to the planning guidelines that are in place is reflected in his professionalism, and allowed certainty in progressing our design documentation.  Upon completion of a compliant design, Tim also provided further options for realising our desired layout and assisted further with a Development Application, which was successful.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Tim Baxter for design documentation, and, should we ever be in a position to in the future, engage Tim Baxter for concept design options as well
